Cassville Rotary Auction

On February 10, the Cassville Rotary Club held its second annual Rotary Auction at their weekly meeting place in the Barry County Museum.
The auction was held to help raise funds for the Cassville Rotary Club Park-Project. This project intends to fill the need for a safe playground at the City Family Aquatic Center The area will be available for siblings of children who are playing ball and who are under their parent's watchful eye and supervision.
Prior to the auction, each club member was requested to bring an item(s) that would sell for a minimum of $10. Sixty-four items in all were auctioned off and in less than one-hour, the club raised $1,700 for the park project.
Auction Chairman was Bob Allen, who was assisted by Debbie Gerleve and auctioneers Stormy Holtzman and Jim Bailey.
We are pretty active all the time but most recently we obtained a grant for matching funds to build recreation equipment (slides, swings, etc.) in Cassville City Park where the kids play baseball. There appeared to be a need for playground equipment near the ball diamonds so the little kids could play while brother/sister was busy playing ball. That way parents could watch the game while tending to the little ones. We are in the process of obtaining the equipment right now with plans to erect it within a month or so.
